Meanings.
- The end - This story is about a couple. Some people think this story relates to Gerard Way. However, the man appears to be very rich, with few friends. He as a wife or girlfriend who is a gold digger and possibly a prostitute. It seems that the two might be married.
- Dead - In this track, it seems that the patient may be dead, and someone is asking, 'have you heard your dead'? do you know you're dead? Is it fair you died? and how it may feel to be informed that your not dying, but that you're actually dead. Its about how life isn't funny, you shouldn't take it for granted, and for how those people do take it for granted, how they can just sit back and laugh life away when this character is dead, and he had no choice. there are thousands out there who are dying, who are asking or thinking the same thing.
- This is how i disappear - i think this about a man who has killed a handful of souls to be with his wife/girlfriend, ''drain all the blood and give the kids a show'' this line talks about all the people he has killed and how he is getting so much attention from the newspapers and such. This may even go with the 'Three cheers for sweet revenge' album.
- The sharpest lives - I think this boy is telling a girl he is not good enough for her, and to leave him alone. ''Give me a shot to remember''... is he suggesting she hit him or leave him with a good stinging remark. Basically he wants her to leave but he almost acts like he wants to start a fight. So she will end it angrily and not be sad she left him.
- Welcome to the black parade - This is the first album from the Black parade In an interview with MTV, lead singer Gerard Way explained that the concept of the album is 'the patient' that died of cancer at an early age. According to Way, death comes in form of your most powerful memory, and for 'the patient the memory is a parade he went to with his father which explains the album title.
- I don't love you - This song seems to be about a prostitute after a night out. The lines ''knock you down and out'' and ''sometimes i cry hard from pleading'' and ''another dollar, just another blow", indicate this.
- House of wolves - i got this of an answer of yahoo answers but i thought would be this *** when you're getting judged, they either tell you you're bad, or tell you you're an angel ''well i know a thing about contrition because i got enough to spare''. Contrition means sorrow for committing sins, so we're guessing he isn't feeling any.
- Cancer - This song is about a patient that is dying of cancer, and it is told from his perspective The patient in the song is in terrible pain, but the primary concern is how much it hurts to leave his loved ones behind. The lyrics describe symptoms that are typical of a cancer patient, such as hair loss, chapped lips and grogginess that all result from chemotherapy treatment.
- Mama - This song starts with the sound of explosions in the background, indicating it is about a soldier at war. He is sending letters and communicating with his mother, who seems ashamed of him ''you ain't no son of mine, for what you've done they're gonna find a place for you, and just you mind your manners when you go, and when you go don't turn to me, my love''. The soldier also feels shame, and is afraid he will be sent to hell when he dies.
- Sleep - During the recording of the Black parade MCR stayed in a paramour mansion, a historic estate and a present day recording studio, located in the silver lake district in Los Angeles, California. The building is thought to be haunted, and during their time there, a number of spooky events freaked the band out. Singer Gerard Way described a 'night terror' he experienced that someone was strangling him, and he couldn't wake up or move. Also bassist Mikey Way, so severely depressed him bandmates had to get him out of the house. Gerard Way had a dictaphone by his bead, and he wrote the song while he was working out how to deal with these 'night terrors'.
- Teenagers - Gerard told the kerrang magazine ''Its a commentary on kids being viewed as meat; by the government and by the society. Thats how i felt in school, and after 9/11 happened thats how i felt in general Its very important this song id here because i always viewed this about the kids in the parade who had killed themselves, who had made a big mistake, Its a very powerful song. (note:this song was released on my birthday 9th july in 2007 i was so happy when i found this out, infact i think i was a bit overly excited lol!!!) He also wrote this song on a train full of teenagers apparently - don't know if this is true???
- Disenchanted - this is what gerard way said at a concert once in birmingham, that this song was about ''living in a dream and then waking up one day in the dream and realizing it was ugly and dead''.
- Kill all your friends - this song is about the only time you will ever see ALL your friends is when of them dies (whereas you will not actually see them all as one of them is missing (the one that dies)). And when you want to party when its over, so you may as well kill your friends to save time.
- Famous last words - In an interview with the New York times, lead singer gerard way said ''at first i thought the patient died, but the more i think about it, the more i think hes not dead, maybe this is all in his head, maybe he can fight. Now i think he has a choice to live, 'The Patient' is the main character of the album.
- Blood - This is the hidden track on the album Black Parade, this song could be about how obsessed fans are, they wants so much out of their idols, MCR might even feel that even though they do all they can, it's never enough, ''give them blood, blood, gallons of the stuff, hive them all they can drink and it will never be enough''. this is as if they are giving their very souls into there work, pouring out every ounce of them into what they do and how some people can want more still.
- Heaven help us - This song is about how people need help and they need to be saved by religion THey ask the heaven and some of them get help and some of them don't.
- My way home is through you - Hes letting you know that even the seven colours of the rainbow are all shades of shit. hes a vocalist so his voice is his gun and his heart is a pot of gold, which the shit-shaded rainbow emerges out of.
the black parade album cover!!!!!
